It's the true-life tale of a sheepdog puppy from a Lancaster, Pa. Puppy Mill. Abused, neglected, and left to die, Henley is finally rescued by a shelter worker and then adopted into a loving home. Written in the dog's voice it brings you closer to the situation from a perspective that needs to be heard. Henley eventually relinquishes his title as "top dog" when he welcomes not one, but five rescued cats into his life. The interaction between canine and felines is touching, humorous, and captivating.

This book continue's Henley's story.  After being rescued from a Lancaster, Pa. Puppy Mill, Henley was rescued and then adopted into a loving home where he became Therapy Dog, a Reading Buddy and a Humane Education Ambassador in addition to writing his own book "My Name is Henley: My life and times as a rescued dog." (see above).  His story has touched thousands. 

Sadly, Henley's own life came to an end on March 13th, 2010, just three days after his twelfth birthday - but his story continues.

In true "Henley" tradition, the dear old Sheepdog comforts us once again in his own voice - now from another place - to help those who have suffered the loss of a pet and give them a sense of closure.
