| Once upon a time, not so many
year's ago, in a quiet city of Utah..lived one rescue Sheepie girl Holly,
with her family of uprights... (and other breeds she chooses not acknowledge
most of the time.)
Holly was a princess in her own mind and had quickly trained her uprights that she was in charge..and in serious need of a playmate. One of her own kind. The others in the household just would not do. They were too little, too whiny, or not smart enough... Somewhere along the way, Holly-by-Golly's Mom had mentioned to her friend on the West Coast that she really would like to find Ms. Holly a new little sister or brother. One that she could totally identify with, of course! It was then, that this very special lady reminded Holly's Mom that maybe, instead of a puppy for Holly....she should have a friend more like herself! A "puppy in adult sheepie clothing" that desperately needed a forever home because his was lost. Wow...what an incredibly wonderful idea! At that same time, way over on the other side of the United States, in Little Rock Arkansas, there was an older, very handsome Sheepie boy whom had suddenly been uprooted from his home and his tiny upright humans that he loved and frolicked with daily. His was a sad plight...you see, he was a huge, big, happy sheepie who had no hearing. His family had moved out of state to an apartment and left him behind. What was this big loving 'deaf' boy to do? He deserved to have a home! A very permanent home! He missed his little upright female, and he missed his little Cocker brother. Most of all he was lonely for love. Well...sheepie dreams do come true, especially when the Rescue Angels intervene!! The resident angel of Anti-lock CA, and Head Rescue Angel of New England were chatting one day when the light came on......on both coasts East and West. Here is Mr. Awesome Boston, a very special needs boy needing a home, and here is a home....definitely wanting a new Sheepie resident for their household. What a perfect match! "Of course" she can handle a deaf-sheepie boy....she's got a husband, doesn't she, they can't hear very well either?" It was a perfect match....a fenced acre of ground, playmates of all sizes (including kitties and horses) and a warm safe home with uprights that love ALL dogs big and small...regardless of their handicaps! Not to mention...Holly by Golly the Princess of everything, now had a Prince Charming...Awesome Boston. To make a long story short, Grannie Annie quickly made the next to impossible arrangements to have Boston flown from Little Rock to the Salt Lake International Airport. He arrived shortly before Christmas to his new home. The poor guy had been on a plane for nearly 6 1/2 hours when we retrieved and set him free from his crate. Seemingly, no worse for the wear, he stepped from his tiny traveling suite, looked at the snowy ground curiously and then into the faces that would become his new and last most favorite people! Boston settled into Utah life quickly. It didn't take him long to figure out that the sofa has a special head-rest that fits his head just right, it is his favorite place to sleep, that two yellow kitties are his favorite entertainment and he feels sad if he misses his morning walk-a-bout to the barn each morning with Mom. It has been a few years since that fun-filled and nerve racking day waiting for Boston to arrive at the airport...and each day has been a treasure ever since. I often look into his eyes and wonder if he longs for his previous family...and all the favorites things he enjoyed with them. Then I watch him greet me with his dancing front feet and his wiggly bottom and I know that he knows; that life is good..and he makes our lives good. Boston is his own kind of sheepie...he
dances, he sort of sings, but best of all...he is joyful.
