Foster was born n 1988 in Australia.  His first 2 1/2 years were with a couple who lived near a beach in Australia --after they moved to New York City, they decided that Foster was too big for the city, so they got in touch with NEOESR.  Grannie Annie, the Angel in my life, contacted me and asked me to "foster" Foster for a weekend...well, after two days with Foster I told Annie I had to be his new owner.....and Foster was mine!!!!!  I lived alone in a one bed condo in the city and my new life with Foster was wonderful.  We started each morning with a large group of dogs in the park and ended each day with a long walk through parks in nearby woods....there were always lots of dogs to play with.  Foster went to two dog training classes and did beautifully.  Although the instructor said he "was not food motivated", he easily passed his Canine Good Citizen test at his first NEOESR picnic!  Foster was always wonderful with people and loved most dogs.   He was very laid-back.  I saw Grannie Annie at an outdoor concert shortly after I had gotten Foster, and there in the middle of all of the people and music, Foster was on his blanket sound asleep.  He loved the new man in my life who later became my husband.  We moved out of the city and eventually moved to Cape Cod.  Foster loved going to the beach and loved walking in the woods.  I can honestly say that Foster loved life --he was a happy, happy dog and that passed on to everyone he met.

Foster was a gorgeous Old English Sheepdog, so I always kept him in full coat - he was easy to brush because he loved to be touched.  In his later years I kept his long hair out of his eyes with what my husband named a "foo-foo" which was a pony tail on the top of his head.  Foster died in 2001 on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.  On the day he died, we had a memorial service for him and I kept his "foo-foo" - it is treasured, as Foster's ashes-- what a joyful dog...our Lamby Boy, our Girly Boy, our Fossalito, our Wonny Wootes, Doody Wonks, Professor Foster T..........our wonderful family member...

Oh how we miss him....
